Jeez...just realized that I haven't kept up with the recent schedule of the Pittsburgh Passion. Hopefully you'll forgive me, as it's been all Penguins playoff hockey for me right now.
Last we checked, the Passion had just lost to the DC Divas back in early May. Since then, Pittsburgh beat the New York Nemesis, 41-0, the Detroit Something-or-Others 34-12, and the Connecticut Something Else's 71-0!
Quite a rebound, if you ask me.
The Connecticut win was the last home game of the regular season, so the team plowed the opposition nicely. Coming up is the final two away games, at Philly, and then to Staten Island for the season finale against the New York Sharks. If they hold it down, then the playoffs should be no joke.
Go Passion!

June 6 @ Philadelphia Firebirds (1-5)
Just another bump in the road. Their only win on the season was against the CT Crushers 31-12(who the Passion slaughtered 76-0 this past weekend) They've already lost by 7 to the same Baltimore team that Pittsburgh whooped up on 49-0 the very next week. Philly also lost 34-3 to the NY (Albany) Nemesis, who were beaten 41-0 the following week by the Passion. 'Nuff said...this game will be over before halftime.
June 13 @ NY Sharks (4-2)
There was a time not too long ago when the Sharks were the measuring stick of quality in women's football. They're still a decent program, but not quite up to par compared to year's past. The Sharks will need to pull off a minor upset the week before in a road rematch against the DC Divas (who beat them 21-7 in NY earlier this season) just to stay in the playoff hunt. (Divas gave Passion their only loss, 27-7 in DC). Other common opponents include NY Nemesis (21-7 Sharks W), Philly Firebirds (33-14 W), CT Crushers (40-7 W). I expect this game to be competitive, but in the end, I predict the Passion will pull away and win by 2-3 TDs. This should sew up a wildcard spot for them, where they would most likely have a first round rematch against the aforementioned undefeated DC Divas. Another pair of unbeatens, the defending champion Dallas Diamonds and Boston Militia should most likely meet in the other half of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
PLAYOFFS
There is a slim chance that the Atlanta Xplosion could beat out the Passion for the sole conference wildcard spot, as Atlanta should have no problem finishing the season 7-1 as well. But strength of schedule tiebreakers should favor Pittsburgh in this situation, so as long as they don't trip up against the Sharks in the final week of the year, this spot shoud be theirs.
