Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: SteelCity Football

psampmerchfeature

This shirt rules. It’s remarkably simple, and uses a few unlicensed tricks that we’ve seen countless times. The term PITTSBURGH FOOTBALL often replaces any mention of the Steelers name, since PITTSBURGH FOOTBALL is both generic and descriptive enough for you guys to understand what they’re talking about.

The other tactic is to adjust the official logo with either something else in place of the hypocycloids or the script in order to make it unique. This shirt goes with both, just to be safe. The hypocycloids are now footballs, and the script STEELERS is replaced with SteelCity. In my time of going through vendor designs like this, I’ve noticed many different logo hypocycloid replacers and scripts, but this is the first that uses SteelCity, and as one franken-word, too!

Here a few recent examples of using an altered Steelers logo (1, 2) and I’m too lazy to poke deeper into the archives. Also, here’s a few PITTSBURGH FOOTBALL ones (1, 2). We’ve got both in this one, proudly. Couple this shirt with your camo Steelers hat and a fantastic belt buckle and you’re ready for a day out at training camp!

If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
