Some unlicensed Pittsburgh merch is absolutely golden. For every 4-5 pathetic Super Bowl ripoffs is something truly hilarious. This, from Cotter, is one of the goodies. I also have to give partial credit to BZ, who claimed to have the same one (or at least something remarkably similar) in the comments of this post. Say…where was Ray Lewis when Joey Porter got shot?
The front cleverly accuses Ravens LB (and possible murderer) Ray Lewis of being the one who shot Joey Porter in the buttcheek in Denver however many years ago. There’s some mock bullet holes to tie it all together. I would be cool with this shirt if the front was all there was…but we haven’t even gotten to the back yet.
Oh yes, that’s cartoon Ray Lewis, scoring DOPE from his boy Jamal Lewis while aiming his gun at a target on Joey’s rump. That’s right…drugs and violence at the same time.
The only thing I don’t get is that the shirt’s answer to Ray’s whereabouts is that he was scoring dope from Jamal Lewis. And even though Jamal went to jail for setting up a cocaine buy, Ray is seen holding a syringe. I wasn’t sure you could inject cocaine. Plus, the answer to Ray’s location was getting drugs, but the illustration also shows him shooting Joey. Was he buying drugs in Denver while shooting Joey? Am I looking too far into this?
Either way, cartoon Ray Lewis/Jamal Lewis/Joey Porter vaults this baby straight into the Unlicensed Hall of Fame.
If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
