Passion Use Creepy Mascot To Beat Phantoms

Possibly fueled by their new mascot (above, h/t PittGirl), the Passion kept their winning streak alive this past weekend with a 38-0 drubbing of the Columbus Phantoms.

You know what that mascot fuels for me? Night terrors.

As per the press release on the Passion website, your unbeaten women’s football team racked up over 200 yards on the ground. Three different players, Amanda Haeg, Michelle Cook and Jenine Suprano all topped 40 yards on the ground. Balanced. Attack. Sure, former player Torina Henley would’ve had 200 by herself, but how can an opposing team try to stop three different players capable of burning an unsuspecting defense?

Haeg herself had 35 yards on one touchdown run.

Natalie Bliel held down the D with 7 tackles while rookie DB Kimberly Lackner picked off a pass and Katie Heil had 1.5 sacks.

The Passion are still tied with the New York Sharks for the lead in the N. Atlantic Division with both teams sporting 4-0 records. Next week, Pittsburgh travels to Baltimore to take on the 1-3 Nighthawks. The Passion have a bye week (for Memorial Day) after the Baltimore game, followed by an epic power struggle with the Sharks.
