Steelers Release QB Zabransky, Sign Brit

Yeah, peace is right.

Moment of silence for former Steeler Jared Zabransky.

The Steelers released the former Boise State quarterback. I’ll always remember his 4+ offseason months with the Black and Gold.

This day was inevitable, what with Dennis Dixon coming to the team via the draft. Dixon should destroy the third string spot, and may even get some reps as a “slash”-type player.

The release of Zabransky makes room for Brit WR Marvin Allen, who spent time on the practice squad in ’06 as part of the NFL International Practice Squad Program. He’s back on the practice squad as part of the same program. He’s spent the past three seasons in NFL Europe, working with the Steelers in his ’06 offseason.

Here’s his combine video, in case you were wondering.

Limey bastard.
