Vom.
Unlicensed sports gear treads a fine line. Some pieces are not entirely terrible, and get the job done if your budget is on the cheap. However, this is not usually the case, and the latest installment of Great Moments in Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch brings us one of these horrible concepts.
Thanks, but no thanks to Stan for this. I cannot justify this purchase in any way.
As was the case with previous entries, the vendor plays off the Steelers’ famous Gunplay font to make a point. There’s no mention of the “Steelers” themselves, but “Pittsburgh Football” is written in the Gunplay/Steelers/Stencil style.
And then there’s the logo right in the middle of the design. You can’t miss it. Here’s how the logo is supposed to look, for your reference:
Notice how the t-shirt logo design uses “Pittsburgh” in place of “Steelers.” And there’s no hypocycloids present…the vendor has replaced them with three footballs in the same positions and colors. If there’s one thing you don’t mess with, it’s the iconic Steelers logo.
#1 Fan? More like #ZERO Fan!
If you wear this shirt, kindly burn it and get an officially-licensed Steelers top. I’ll give you the extra 10 bucks or whatever.
