Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: The Steelers Shopping Cart Cover

You know the story…you’re at JoAnn Fabrics with your infant and don’t want to hold them while you check out all the sick muslin and fiberfill. You’d put them in that front seat of the shopping cart, but how comfortable can some plastic and metal be for your kid? If only there was an officially-licensed way to represent your football team while pimping out your child’s craft store whip.

Where the Steelers official store fails, unlicensed vendors step in and settle the situation.

Thanks to iheartpgh for sending this in last week. It comes from the ever-reliable Etsy, which is a goldmine for unlicensed sports merchandise. It’s the DELUXE shopping cart cover. Don’t cheap out and get the generic Steelers shopping cart cover…your kid will know the deluxe one just by the feel.

I know craft stores in the Pittsburgh area always sell Steelers/Penguins/Pirates fabric, but I got no way of telling if the team approved of it. Even if they did, there’s no way they licensed this particular product. And that’s why we show love to the unlicensed vendors, for bringing us the pieces of team merch that we never thought could exist. Anyone can make an unlicensed shirt or hat…few have had the creative imagination to trick out a shopping cart.

If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
