I have three pairs of these socks.
I think they’re originally from some strip mall dollar store in Belle Vernon or Rostraver or something. They got away with writing STEELERS, but there’s no logos or anything remotely licensed on them. Typical pairs of officially-licensed socks have the logo displayed. But these crafty merchants are gonna get your Pittsburgh sports gear $ one way or another.
I’ve had at least one of the pairs since before Super Bowl XL. My best friend Bob had a pair as well. I’m way superstitious, and wear the same clothes during a Steelers win streak…and these socks were a part of the XL run of the final 4 straight regular season wins and the 4 playoff wins to help the team hoist that trophy in Detroit.
As generic as they are, they mean something in regards to the team (at least to me). So say something…
