Who does Bloomberg think they are? Or for that matter...what is this renegade betting service?

After Michael Vick got a conditional reinstatement to the NFL, Bloomberg reported on the commisioner's decision. Then, right at the very end of the clip, they sneak in a little nugget that some betting service has the Steelers or Patriots with the best odds of signing Vick.

This doesn't mean our Steelers will land the troubled former QB...just that Vegas really likes the stability our franchise offers. And as much as I hate the Patriots, they have been able to get the most out of high-risk/high-reward type players, so it's natural that New England and Pittsburgh would be atop anyone's list of successful front offices.

But I thought we needed less distractions following up a Super Bowl this time around. Looks like we traded in a motorcycle accident and the end of a longtime coach's tenure for shady assault charges and Ron Mexico? Dennis Dixon has to be at least comparable to anything the Steelers could expect out of Vick.

But would you, my fellow fans, even want Vick in Black and Gold? Sure he's talented, but he's also been out of the game for 2 seasons. Then again, I was the guy pushing for the Steelers to sign Daunte Culpepper over Byron Leftwich last season, so my opinion on this should pretty much carry no weight.

Tomlin did support Vick back in March.

Absolutely Not

Not going to happen. The only way it does happen is if the Steelers have serious doubts about Charlie Batch's shoulder. And even then, there are much better options out there (read: Dennis "the Menace" Dixon).

Not that we should be thinking about getting creative or anything, but how sweet would it be to have Ben and Dixon line up in the backfield together? The Whiz would have had a field day. Too bad Arians lacks immagination. (To him, immagination is passing on 3rd and 1 in the AFC Championship game with under 6 minutes left and a 5-point lead).

Actually, I was pulling for Culpepper over Leftwich last year as well...shows how much I know.

Honestly, if Vick were willing to play an Antwan Randle-El role, I'd be all for it. He's not a quarterback, but he'd be a great weapon.

I don't see that happening, though.

Totally against it. I support Mike Vick and I hope he gets his chance on another team, but not here. Why? Because we just don't need him. We have a starting QB and a solid backup, plus the heir apparent to Charlie Batch is waiting in the wings.

And while those gadget plays are always fun and exciting to watch, consider this: The Steelers didn't run any trick plays like that last season, and they still won the Superbowl. It's hard to tell them to change anything.

Actually Brian, the Steelers ran a flea-flicker against the Colts. Moore almost threw the ball away from Ben. Ben almost got sacked. Hines had to come back about 20 yards to catch it. Might have been the worst executed successful flea-flicker of all time.

Also, we ran a WildParker 5 times in the preseason and once in the Super Bowl.
