Ever wanted to hear Penguins television announcers Steigy and Errey together before they started calling Pens games? All you had to do was ask.
Here’s a pretty cool clip from the moments after the Pens won their second of back-to-back Cups in the early 90s. Errey had just won the Cup, and Steigy was still working for KDKA. If you close your eyes, you can almost imagine these two voices as they are heard today, providing commentary to a new Penguins generation.
Errey still has the “excited former player” vibe on current broadcasts, so hearing it 17 years ago after a big Cup win is kinda awesome. Here’s hoping “‘Guins Win!” can resonate in 2009.
