“I was lucky enough to have a ticket to Super Bowl XLIII and the day before the big game I found myself at Tank’s Tap Room, a Steelers bar in Tampa. I got this from some Steelers fans selling these from their van in the parking lot. I really wanted it in white, but they didn’t have any small enough. I knew very well that it may be outdated the following day, but I still thought it was awesome. The concept is pretty obvious. We were going for #6 which is depicted as 6 O’clock and that now it was Tomlin’s time to help us get another ring.”
Here’s the close up, to show the Super Bowl rings for 1-through-5 o’clocks, with the names of each winning coach next to the corresponding ring. The clock hands show 6 o’clock, and Tomlin and his team delivered in that game.
The vendor could conceivably get busted for using an actual Steelers logo and team name, but unless the NFL apparel cops are stalking bars in Tampa at the perfect time, then I think this designer is in the clear.
