Thanks to Dan, for now making sure there’s more than one Pitt item in the Great Moments archive. And for helping fight Cystic Fibrosis. That, too. Dan says:
“I’m doing a philanthropy event that benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through my Fraternity (Phi Delta Theta). The event (The Backyard Run) coincides with the Backyard Brawl. We run a football the complete journey between WVU and The University of Pittsburgh the weekend prior to the Backyard Brawl.
We did get clearance from the University of Pittsburgh to use this logo but we couldn’t use PITT or Panthers anywhere in it.
The game is on November 26 so we’ll be running on the 19th.”
I usually use this area to be snarky, or to cut up on some horrendous generic design, but I can’t really do that with a logo that helps charity. Plus, the design is a lot better than anything you’ll find in the Strip District or outside the stadiums.
Here’s some info on last year’s run. I’d hope you can donate, or find some way to support this year’s Backyard Run. Because the Mountaineers suck, but not as much as Cystic Fibrosis.
