Dave Wannstedt’s unique personality (and mustache) is arguably the most recognizable aspect of today’s Pitt football team. The former NFL coach and onetime Steelers coaching prospect until being vanquished by a certain chin has brought a successful style of play with quietly-fantastic players since his arrival with the Panthers.
Bryan’s site pays tribute to Wanny and his legendary ‘stache, and the shirt reflects that. It doesn’t hurt that you can tell who the caricature is supposed to depict by only seeing a nose, ‘stache and mouth. And that’s more than enough for inclusion here.
