I lived in the Southwestern Pennsylvania area for like 98% of my life, and I never met anyone with the last name Pittsburgh. Sidenote, I should probably change my name to Nicholas Pittsburgh or something. That’d be cool.
But back to the shirt, I’m intrigued by the phrase 2009 Pittsburgh Hockey Champions. Were they the 2009 champions of Pittsburgh hockey? Like they could beat any other team in the city? I’d choose them every day of the week. That’s not a unique honor. The professional NHL teams in every city could probably take every other lower-level team in said city all at the same time.
However, there’s a silhouette of Sidney Pittsburgh holding the Stanley Cup, so I hope last year’s Pittsburgh Hockey Champions can remember this postseason’s ultimate goal.
