Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: Sharky’s

psampmerchfeature

There’s a reason you’re only getting a closely-cropped pic of today’s generic merch piece up top. You’ll have to hit the jump for the full-sized image.

That’s my bud Penshead with the cheesy grin and Sharky’s training camp shirt. Sharky’s and Dino’s are the two competing bar/wing places in Latrobe.

This picture was taken probably around a year ago, after we made Penshead into a Steelers fan at 2009 training camp. My brother-in-law and sister have this running set of Baroque-themed parties with music, art and live shows of fire twirling and burlesque dancing and all that stuff. One of my favorites was the dude who rode a unicycle on a slack wire in the side room of some small bar way over on Avenue C in Manhattan. You don’t see that every day.

Anyway the full picture is Penshead in between 2 of the burlesque dancers on a night when there were at least 3 or 4 performing. These 2 had just finished their respective sets. And right in the middle is a great generic Pittsburgh sports shirt.

You can tell it’s a Steelers jersey as Sharky’s uses the Gunplay stencil font for their own name. Plus you got the Black and Gold and the terms GO PITTSBURGH and XLIII CHAMPIONS. Those all refer to the Steelers, wise-guy.

What more do I need to say? You’ve seen everything there is to see about the shirt itself. Full picture after the jump:

If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
