Thanks to my friend Flinn for sending this in. Her boyfriend picked it up as a gift. Here’s the backstory:
“My boyfriend was planning an east coast adventure during this past fall. D.C., New Jersey, New York City. And like any good girlfriend I asked him to bring me back something ‘nice’. He knows I’m a fan of the beer coozie, but was having trouble finding one that would perfectly fit me. He was in D.C. checking out some museums while the friend he was staying with was at work and stumbled upon a kiosk outside at one of the museums. There he found the gem which is the 6 Lombardi trophies light switch cover. I fell in love with it immediately! The images on the cover are a bit fuzzy even though that twitpic came from the camera.”
Easily a top-5 gift of all time. The vendor didn’t concern themselves with dancing around the officially-licensed Steelers name/logo, or the image of the Lombardi Trophies. Nah, they just slapped them right on the light switch cover and sold it as if it was perfectly normal. My only beef is that I’ve yet to find one for myself.
And maybe they just conveniently put the Steelers name/logo right where the screw mounts would be so they could claim that the name/logo was different from the officially-licensed one. Pretty slick.
