Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: UNLICENSED PGH SPORTS MINI PONY!!!ONE!!1!!ELEVEN!!11!!

I can now die a happy man. When I originally started the Great Moments feature back in August of 09, I did so with little expectation of positive reaction. I only wanted to have a place to show off and laugh at the ridiculous generic local sports gear I had sitting around my apartment. When you all started sending me your own stuff and ones you found while out and about, I realized that this was getting fun.

I never knew it would come full circle.

Andy sends along the picture you see up top. Yes, that is an unlicensed Pittsburgh sports mini pony. All of the worlds I’ve created at PSAMP are crashing together in this one picture. Pittsburgh sports? Check. Mini pony? Check. UNLICENSED PITTSBURGH SPORTS MINI PONY? CHECKCHECKCHECK. Andy says:

So I was at the “Hometowne Sports” store at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Washington, PA when I came across the most appropriate “Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merchandise” piece in the history of your site (at least I assume it is).

Not only is this stuffed animal holding a towel and wearing a a T-Shirt that reads “Let’s Go Pittsburgh” with a very baby-ish looking, non-Pittsburgh Penguin, Penguin on it holding a hockey stick.  It is also a MINI PONY!  I thought it was too good to be true.  I didn’t want to waste the money to buy it, so I just snapped a shot of it in the store.  I should have bought it and sent it to you guys as a mascot for this section of the site.  Maybe next time!

With this one picture, Andy vaults into top 5 human on the planet-status. I’m still in shock that something like this exists. After I started this site and told a few close friends about it, they all looked at me like I was batty for combining the two main elements of Pittsburgh sports and miniature little horses. They knew I loved both deeply, but the combination was absurd. Well, now that’s two times this week (after the midget horse-loving boy in his Pittsburgh shirt) where I’ve been justified.

Say something…

If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
