A year ago today, I kicked off what’s now my most frequent feature and one that I enjoy publishing immensely, Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch. What was initially started as a way to fill time on the front page while I was away on a hiking vacation eventually evolved into a pretty cool online library of local generic sports gear. The first one was a combo Steelers/Penguins one, since the first half of 2009 brought 2 trophies to the city. I think we’re right around 100 or so items posted now, and I’ve got way too many in the queue. When you send them in I just keep ’em in my memory until I get around to putting them here.
But I’m starting to get overwhelmed. So for this feature’s birthday, I’ll de-stress my brain and publish shirts from most of the prominent sports organizations in Pittsburgh. Check back every now and then to see a new one. Or don’t.
