Great Moments In Unlicensed Pittsburgh Sports Merch: Joel Hanrahan, Pittsburgh Baseballs

Thanks to Zach for this. He says:

Could this be a great moment in unlicensed Pittsburgh memorabilia? I like the front of the jersey.

Oh of course it’s unlicensed merch and I also like the front of the jersey, thankyouverymuch. Joel Harahan and the folks at Washington Auto Mall wanted dearly to have Joel look as close to a Pirates player as possible, but you always gotta find a workaround with licensed logos and names. So there’s no giant P on his jersey. There’s no pirate-face logo staring back. Just a bland jersey with the script BASEBALL. Perfect.

We saw this phenomenon with one of Max Talbot’s commercials. The KISS FM crew among others wore Pens jerseys while all pretending to be Talbot to get a great deal on a car. They had to readjust and shoot again with altered black jerseys with the car place’s logo rather than the skating penguin since they didn’t have the official blessing to use it. Which brings us to Hanrahan’s fantastic jersey.

The Pittsburgh Baseballs rule.

If you have any unlicensed Pittsburgh sports gear, or awesome generic sports gear from any team, send them to me and I’ll post them.
