Pronunciations suck. I remember losing it when the Steelers drafted Ben and I saw an O-E-T-H in his name and thought “yeah, right.” And that isn’t even thinking about the pronunciation-confusion we all felt with guys like Kimo Von Oelhoffen or the legendary Chris Fuamatu Ma’afala.
And I still struggle when I say Zbynek Michalek’s last name out loud.
So I guess thanks are in order for the unlicensed vendor who decided to to straighten you guys out who still get confused at Troy’s last name. Sure, it’ll still get pronounced wrong (as evidenced by this AWESOME Yahoo Answers page), but as long as we get Solomon Wilcots to review this shirt and not add a random G to the name we’ll be all good.
