Why are we even here, recapping a Steelers game? A huge swath of Steelers fans seemed to write off the season after the loss last week. So isn’t the season over? There’s no use playing the rest of the year what with this patchwork O Line and old defense and lack of running game.

38-17 Steelers.

Getting through to the bye week with as best a record as possible is critical, with some heavy games like New England and Baltimore on the horizon. One way to do that is to beat the Tennessees of the world and hopefully the Jacksonvilles like next week. Ben and Co. took care of business yesterday.

Ben: 5 of 5 motorcycle helmets. Not beating around the bush with his rating. Sprained foot and just dominated. 24 of 34 for 228, FIVE TDs and a pick. There is no critique possible This week. He knows his play to date hasn’t been to par, and he’s working through the kinks. Yesterday was a big step forward.

RBs: Oh man no Mendy no problem. Redman ran better than his 15 carries for 49 yards seems to indicate. And Jon Dwyer with that insane 76 yard scamper helped him end with 107 on 11 rushes. No TDs but established the ground game so Ben could slice through the Titans’ secondary. 4 of 5 helmets.

Defense: The glamour stats are still not coming like they have in previous seasons, but it hasn’t hurt as much as it could. The D still got 3 sacks and Woodley’s pick after Keisel’s tip. Ike is shutting people down. Farrior had 13 tackles with 9 of ’em solo. The lack of Keisel the past 2 games has hurt but this squad played nicely while having to adjust for no James Harrison this week. 4 of 5 helmets.

Officiating: BALL POSSESSION FOR EVERYONE, YAY!

Pic via my bud Isaac. 5 of 5 motorcycle helmets.

Jaguars in town next week. Keep it pushin’.
