Via Deadspin, some guy has a tattoo of all 30 MLB mascots. My first thought was to look for the Pirate Parrot, naturally. Deadspin already knew we’d come looking, so they highlighted this bit about the tattoo and our Bucco bird’s inclusion:
“The Pirate Parrot has red eyes as a tribute to Dock Ellis’s no-hitter on acid, plus the fact that the person who once was the mascot had a role in the 1980s MLB drug trials.“
Fitting.
Mr. Met and the Florida Marlin are uncomfortably close to the Parrot, and my guess is they’re trying to score some of his stash.
