The Pittsburgh Penguins have played 25 games so far in the 2013-14 season. Former longtime-Penguin Rob Scuderi was featured in the first 11 games of the season in his return from a four-year stint in Los Angeles, but he has now missed 14-straight games with a broken ankle. That ankle required surgery, and Scuds is still out indefinitely. Frowny face.
The only upside is that the Penguins will get an established veteran blueliner back at a critical point later in their season, and the team has gotten a chance to give younger D-men like Olli Maatta and Robert Bortuzzo more work.
But even in his absense, Scuds is making sure to remember that he's still a part of this team, while maintaining a smile about his gimpy situation. The above picture was shared by Pens PR Lady Jennifer Bullano, featuring one of Scuds' crutches displayed in his stick spot among the sticks of his teammates.
Meanwhile Cardboard Orpik stands at a team facility vending machine routinely feeding it a rejected, crumpled dollar bill over and over.
